Workin' Hard or Hardly Workin'

Yeah, its been a while.  I can't believe its already been over a week since I last posted anything, which I can't actually say is because I've been busy.  Its more like I've been... blah.  Blah is in suffering from migraine headaches for days >.> which is really annoying when you want to concentrate on writing and your head is going "FUCK YOU AND YOUR CONCENTRATION!"  So yes.  Rawr.  And stuff.

I've spent this whole time thinking of different things though, like how I might actually write the second part of "Whistling in the Dark" as a short mini-story instead of a secondary chapter one-shot thingy because I've got a good idea for a gunslinger western-esque storyline I'd love to try.  I'm also deciding on which stories I will be starting now in my coming attractions list and which ones I will leave for when I finish what I've already got going so I can prevent overwhelming of my writing schedule.  Although I do want to make room for at least ONE new Resident Evil story.  Well, not new, but one of the ones that have been brewing for a while.  Also there's a Halo story I want to write, but I don't think I'm going to get to it until after I finish all the books and play through the games a few more times.  It will, however, concentrate a lot on the Arbiter Thel' Vadam and what is happening after the events of Halo 3.  Because, y'know Arbiter <3 and such.  ^_^

Tonight I will attempt to update on something I've been writing.  I do not yet know whether it will be Come What May, Imperium et Libertus, or Son of Mars.  I promise one day to update "Someone I Used to Know" again, its just that with all the concentration on the newer stories sometimes I actually forget that I was writing it until I look at my profile again and go "shit."  So yeah.  Sadly if I had been writing on it like I wrote on Imperium I probably would be done right now since its not going to be anywhere near as long as that story is going to be.  I don't even want to know what Imperium's sequel is going to look like. -Shiver-

In addition to updating a story I think I might redesign this blog and add some elements and things, so.. uhm, yeah... we'll see where that goes and how it looks.  I usually randomly just design as I go.

Characters - First Look!

A friend of mine gave me the idea to take pictures on screen to show off my characters.  I don't have Fallout for PC so I can't just print screen or they would look better.  Maybe I can figure out a way to make better ones in the future.  These were taken with my digital camera I found lying around.  Pictures below the "Read More" Cut.  I might redo Scarlet's, but the facial stuff is mostly right.  Bah.  I dunno.  Its kinda hard to get them exactly as I picture.  I might redo all of them except Jocelyn.  She's pretty damned close.

Work in Progress

I'm still trying to balance my time out.  For some unknown reason I actually thought it would a lot easier than it really is to find time enough for my friends, my writing, and life in general.  Blah.  Its one of those situations where I need just a few more hours in my day and I'd be set.  I'm finding that since I started writing again after my year, year and a half stint of almost writing nothing (which was emotionally draining, grr) my mind is whirring a mile a minute now full of lots of new stories and they're all screaming for my attention and I don't want to let any of them -- or any of you (the readers) down.  I just don't want to get into the same situation I was a long time ago and have so many ideas that I eventually just get so overwhelmed I can't finish anything.  That would be really annoying.  Although I don't really think that will happen.  Most of what I have are one-shots, which despite my one-shot tendency to be a lot longer than most people's they're still not that big of a handful, and my other stories, as long as I keep them under at least 10 with a priority list of about 3-5 I should be pretty well ok.

Currently my biggest priorities are "Imperium et Libertas" and "Son of Mars" although I would really like to get going on my Burke story "Come What May" again.  Its not like I think its going to be something truly special (then again I don't really think any of my writing is that special, but meh...) its just I've always wanted to write a Burke story and I damn well want to get a decent ways into it.  I already have over ten chapters loosely planned depending upon the way the story takes me, but knowing me the characters will start arguing with me and tell me in no uncertain terms that what I'm wanting is not the way they want to go and will picket until I write their version.  Its happened in Imperium already.  It will most likely happen in "Son of Mars," too.  Damn those ungrateful bastards.  *shakes fist at them all, but can't pretend to stay mad and sighs*  Yeah, I'm so intimidating.

I've also got a few mini-series floating around in my head including: You Don't Know Me (a Benny Story, which isn't as creatively unique as I would like it to be sigh), Dissolute (A Vulpes Story I'm trying to figure out how to end), Last Request (another Benny one that might be a one-shot, or might be a short series depending upon interest), and a series of one-shots that kind of coalesce together only because they're the same LW character in all of them that I haven't titled which is just about three or four Burke/LW stories with shameless naughty things involved.  Bad me, I know, but I can't help being obsessed with the man for some damned reason.  >.>  I blame it on Bethesda for not explaining him better and making him all mysterious and shit.

There's some other stories bouncing around my brain, too.  I've been crushing on Butch DeLoria for the past couple weeks as well and have a Butch/LW/Possible Charon story.  And then I have the reawakening of my first NV character Eadan in story form.  Its a story I've wanted to write for a while, but wasn't sure how to go about it.  It will involve Harland (the ghoul you find in the Repconn basement during the "Come Fly With Me" quest), and Boone at least.  Yeah, I'll finally be writing a Boone story, sheesh, like we need more of those on FF.NET, but hell I wanted to try my hand and I promise not to make it fluffy, and shit I might not even put them together depending upon how the story goes.  Pretty much I thought that Harland and Boone would actually make good friends if they spent time together and between the three of them make an interesting trio so I have to give it a go.  If anyone's interested then let me know and I'll try to get a bit written and posted, but its still such a vague idea that I don't know how I want to start with it.  Blarg.  The last longer-chaptered story I wanted to write is actually about The King, who I've liked since the first time I had one of my characters step into Freeside.  I've always wanted to explore his character a little more, but I've been kind of afraid to.  For some reason I can write "bad guys" a lot better than I can write nice guys.  Although the King story will likely not be as long as "Imperium" of "Son of Mars" or even either of the others I want to write.  And its mostly going to have to do with life inside Freeside as opposed to the Courier's story throughout the game, which in a way will be a little refreshing to write because as messed up as Freeside is at the beginning it will be a change to write her going through a completely different set of struggles as she tries to help him clean up the area and make a difference -- as well as the eventual romance that's going to brew between her and the King.  So... Yeah.  I've kind of rambled on tonight but I need to just talk about stuff.

Pretty much like the title says everything is just a work in progress, including myself, and if any of you are reading this I really appreciate your support and continued readership of my stories.  You're all full of awesome that I cannot measure.
